Avant Naraka: A Heightened Multisensory Experience
This project was created with 2 other collaborators under the name of ‘The Weird Kids’. The brief given was to create an experience that heightened the audience’s senses.
My roles: project manager, motion designer, lighting designer of Capitol theatre
The project is featured in Melbourne Music Week in May 2022.
combining two polar opposite concepts
A word to describe my project is jarring. The first half of the video is pleasant using motion graphics and video editing techniques. a body of water was used to further solidify the calm atmosphere before it suddenly shifts to a tense nature. the second half would be described as ‘hell’ which was the main attraction. the second half is completed with shocking strobes. Sound plays an important part in this section, the heightened sense will not exist without it.
The lights are used for ambience, the lights in real life will amplify the effect of the video and will help to ‘drown’ the audience into the experience.
